Confidential DeFi Portfolio Automation Startup
Staff Full Stack Engineer#1492
New York City · Hybrid, 2–3 days/week · Full-time
$150K – $220K base + early equity
About the company
This seed-stage company is building a non-custodial platform for onchain trading and portfolio automation. Users retain control of their assets while the product supports trading, rebalancing, monitoring, indexing, and lending.
Founded in 2024, the company has raised $4M and is building with a small team experienced across crypto infrastructure and DeFi products. Engineers joining now can shape both the architecture and the product.
About the role
This is a Staff-level IC role with a 70/30 backend-to-frontend split. You will own end-to-end product engineering, with a focus on backend systems for onchain trading, indexing, lending, and portfolio automation.
It is an application and product engineering role rather than a protocol-focused position. Solidity represents only a small part of the work.
What you'll do
- Lead end-to-end product development across backend services, onchain integrations, and frontend workflows.
- Build systems for onchain transactions, indexing, lending, and portfolio automation.
- Design secure, scalable abstractions for complex DeFi and trading workflows.
- Work across backend infrastructure, swaps, and Web3 user experiences.
What we're looking for
- 5+ years of software engineering experience with Staff-level ownership.
- Strong full-stack experience with clear backend depth.
- Professional experience shipping at a DeFi protocol, onchain product, or trading platform.
- Deep understanding of onchain transactions, indexing, lending, DEXes, AMMs, liquidity provision, and perpetuals.
- Strong Node.js and TypeScript skills.
- Pragmatic execution, high ownership, and clear English communication.
Nice to have
- Solidity experience.
- Familiarity with Viem, Wagmi, SIWE, Pimlico, permissionless.js, or smart accounts.
- Experience with GCP, AlloyDB, Axiom, Sentry, or Python-based solvers.
- Experience with Next.js, tRPC, Tailwind, Radix UI, Zustand, Vitest, or Synpress.
Tech stack
- Node.js, TypeScript, Next.js, tRPC, GCP, AlloyDB, Axiom, Sentry, Viem, Wagmi, SIWE, Pimlico, permissionless.js, Tailwind, Radix UI, Zustand, Vitest, Synpress, Solidity, and Python-based solvers.
Compensation & benefits
$150K–$220K base salary.
Early-stage equity.
Relocation within the United States may be available.
Location
New York City, hybrid, with 2–3 days per week in a coworking office.

Why this opportunity
This role combines product engineering, backend infrastructure, and onchain financial systems. It is well suited to an engineer who wants to build complete DeFi products, stay hands-on, and have meaningful architectural ownership within a small early-stage team.
