What are cookies and local storage
Cookies are small text files stored by your browser when you visit a website. Local storage is a similar browser-based mechanism used to store small pieces of data on your device. Both are commonly used to make sites work, remember preferences and understand usage.
How we use them
Our site is intentionally lightweight. We currently use:
- Local storage (essential) — to remember your preferred language (Spanish or English) so you don't have to choose it on every visit.
- Strictly necessary cookies — set by the platform that hosts the site to keep it running and secure.
- Session cookies and local storage for the team area (essential) — this site also hosts our private, invite-only workspace. If you are a team member and log in, we store your session so you stay signed in. These are never set for public visitors.
We do not use advertising cookies, behavioral advertising trackers, or cross-site tracking pixels.
Third-party services
To detect your preferred language automatically when you first visit the site, we make a request to ipapi.co. This service receives your IP address and returns the country it is associated with, which we use solely to decide whether to show the site in Spanish or English. We do not store the IP address; only the resulting language preference is saved in your browser's local storage.
Our application forms are our own and are hosted directly on this site — they are not embedded from a third party. Team members who sign in with Google will have cookies set by Google as part of that login.
Managing cookies and local storage
Most browsers let you view, manage and delete cookies and local storage through their settings. You can also configure your browser to block them, but doing so may affect parts of the site (for example, your language preference would not be remembered between visits).
